If there was any doubt that the Wii is aimed at a more mature market as well as mini-game crazy kids, then this should make the point pretty well. Manhunt, the highly contraversial game that appeared on last gen machines before having a bag placed over it’s head and suffocated, is to get a sequel. And it’s coming to the Wii. Chances are this game will have you doing stuff with your Wiimote that you had never imagined.
Coding duties will rest with Rockstar Games, a company not exactly strangers to contraversial games. Founder Sam Houser had this to say,
“With Manhunt 2 we have tried to create a game that stays close to the original concept of chilling suspense and stealth, whilst pushing the game design and storytelling forward,”
“We are also excited to have our newest development team, Rockstar London, working on the title alongside our two established UK studios, Rockstar North and Leeds.”
All sounds promising. The original was actually pretty good, though this was rather overshadowed by the usual media over-reaction to stuff that they don’t understand. The game should appear in the summer. It may or may not be a coincidence that this is the quietest time of the year for newspapers in the UK. Rockstar looking for headlines? Surely not…
